If you want to explore digital video and you have some experience in photography, take this course. No experience with camcorders necessary, however you must be familiar with working on a computer. We will be creating video poems using non-linear editing techniques. Class time will be spent in the classroom, in the town, and in nature filming with camcorders and/or digital cameras.

The goal of the course is to demystify digital video. We will focus on aesthetic and theoretical approaches to telling a story through sequential imagery. This workshop requires active learners and will provide demonstrations of filming and editing techniques. We will end the class with a show of video shorts. Students should wear comfortable clothes and be prepared for the typical variety of weather conditions that New England summers offer. Some hours of class will take place outside.
